About Me
My name is Mary Hamati, and I would love to be your private tutor! I have experience tutoring at every level of eduction, from middle school to medical school STEP exams.
I graduated high school in 2011, and I attended the University of Michigan (BS, 2015) for college. There, I majored in Anthropology and minored in Arabic Language while completing my pre-medicine requirements. At Michigan, I worked as an Organic Chemistry I & II and Physics Study Group Facilitator.
After college, I worked as a research assistant for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program. I then attended Michigan State University College of Human Medicine for medical school. During medical school I also tutored students and worked in multiple mentorship and leadership roles.
In 2020, I worked as a post-doctoral research fellow for the Foot and Ankle Department at the University of Colorado. After a year of translational research, I joined the orthopedic residency program at the University of Colorado. I worked as a physician for a year and a half before realizing I wanted a future outside of medicine. I took some time off to rejuvenate and then joined Americorp as a middle school math tutor. From there, I began private tutoring which led me to start my own company to offer the flexibility clients desired.
Creating Life-Long Learners
I truly believe everyone deserves to love learning and should remain curious about the world throughout their entire life. With each session, I work hard to keep the motivation and mood upbeat and fun. I do my best to teach organizational skills that are translatable to all aspects of life. I encourage students to ask questions, to be good citizens, and to love their environment and themselves.
